The American Middle East Institute (AMEI), of which Simin Curtis, Past President of the Harvard Club of Western PA, is volunteer President, is presenting its Seventh Annual Conference on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 8:00 PM at the Carnegie Music Hall. This year’s VIP Speaker is General David H. Petraeus, who is the Chairman of the KKR Global Institute, a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a member of the advisory boards of several veterans’ organizations. General Petraeus previously served for 37 years in the U.S. military, including as commander of coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and as commander of the US Central Command. Following retirement from the military in August 2011, he served for 14 months as the Director of the CIA (from AMEI’s website).
