    Rachel Carson Trail Hike

   Do you want to get out of your house and see nature during the Pandemic? 

   Please join the Harvard Club of Western PA on a two hour hike on the Rachel Carson Trail on Saturday October 10 at 2:30pm.   The hike will be on a portion of

    the Rachel Carson Trail which includes very nice views overlooking the Allegheny River.  Susan Apel (HLS), HCWPA Executive Commitee member, will lead

    the hike and can be contacted at saapel17@gmail.com with any questions.  Children are welcome to participate.  Social distancing guidelines will be followed. 

   PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION: 

    New Meeting Location: 

    The hike will be the same, but we are starting from the other end and changing the parking lot meet-up location  to ensure that there is sufficient parking. 

    From Pittsburgh, take Exit 15 off Route 28 (Natrona Heights) and go right on Burtner Road about 3/4 of a mile to Freeport Road.  Take a left on Freeport Road

    and go approximately 1.6 miles to Harrison Hills Park on your right.  The address of Harrison Hills Park is 5200 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights.   

    Enter the park, and stay right in the direction of "Soccer Fields."  Proceed all the way through the park, staying right; at the end of the park, before the road

    loops back out, there is a large sign that says "Soccer Fields" -- take a right at that sign and proceed to the parking lot for the soccer fields.
