Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures: Doris Kearns Goodwin
Please join the HCWPA for a Literary Evening with Doris Kearns Goodwin. She earned her earned a Ph.D. in government from Harvard University, with a thesis titled "Prayer and Reapportionment: An Analysis of the Relationship between the Congress and the Court." In the 1970s, she also taught government at Harvard for 10 years, including a course on the American presidency.
As stated in the Pittsburgh Arts & Lecture website:
"Doris Kearns Goodwin is a renowned presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. In her illuminating exploration, Leadership in Turbulent Times, she draws upon the extraordinary and inspiring qualities of four presidents—Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson (in civil rights)—to show how they recognized leadership qualities within themselves and were recognized as leaders by others."
